Easy Buttercream Frosting

This easy buttercream frosting recipe is a must have in your recipe book.  It is a hybrid between American Buttercream and a swiss meringue buttercream.  Very EASY to make, silky, smooth, delicious and pipes beautifully.

  • 1/2 cup pasteurized egg whites
  • 4 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 lb powdered sugar or 4 cups
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  • Beat the egg whites and powdered sugar in a stand mixer until it becomes fluffy and shiny for about 5 minutes.
  • Then add the room temperature butter in small pieces and whip on high for about 8 minutes or until it comes together.
  • Add the vanilla and salt and mix until combined.
  • To color add gel food coloring a little at a time until the gel color is fully combined.  Remember that as the buttercream sits the color darkens so don't add too much.
